Banking sector taxation increases, but the state loses money from BNR revenues

Even if commercial banks will pay higher taxes, state revenues from banking sector taxation are set to decrease in 2026 by approximately one billion lei compared tO 2025, mainly due to the reduction in the amounts transferred to the budget by the National Bank of Romania.
